About Timbuk2 AI.
A South African company turning local observation into evidence about stores, streets and billboards.
Timbuk2 is the company behind FOONA, 2Klip and Pikaboo. Our legal name is Timba2 (Pty) Ltd. This is the field-data and intelligence company, not the similarly named bag manufacturer.

A game answer, a field observation and an audience estimate are different kinds of evidence. Here is where each belongs.
- 2Klip
-
The local-knowledge game
People play with their knowledge of places. Game responses can surface candidate signals. They are not automatically verified field observations or representative research.

-
The field-collection network
People nearby capture requested observations with photos, location and time. Collection starts with an agreed brief and review rules. Availability, access and coverage are confirmed for the project.

Out-of-home audience measurement
Pikaboo reports reach, visibility-adjusted contacts (VAC) and average frequency for out-of-home panels, computed from anonymised movement data and verified in person. Its method and limitations live on its own site.

Our published examples cover informal-outlet submissions, flood observations and billboard collection. Each example states its date, source, unit and limits.
An approved submission is not an independently audited location. A bounded collection is not a census. Agree the acceptance criteria before using observations to make a decision.
Read the dated field evidence
Start with your question.
Tell us the place, what you need to find out and how the answer will be used. We can then discuss a feasible sample and what evidence it should contain.
- Find or recheck informal retail outlets
Define the area and outlet categories before counting records.
- Scope physical-world ground truth
Agree labels, acceptance criteria and permitted uses. Model-training rights are not automatic.
- Explore FOONA Commons
